Development Log #4: Expanding the Game
Our game has finally entered the testing stage of development and is working towards a beta release.
The programmers worked on implementing the menu's of our game which are currently functional and working as expected with only art needed to be made for these pages. We are preparing for testing gameplay over a network with the lobby and map system complete.The way the map system works is that the arena with the most votes becomes the stage where the players will fight in.
We have also decided to further expand upon the original plan for our game and decided to add power-ups. Currently we have added a speed power-up which as the name suggests makes the character faster for a limited time. Unlike most of the mechanics of our game which we were implemented using conventional programming, the speed power-ups was actually made using the Bolt visual scripting package as we wanted to experiment with new technologies.
